Senior Network Engineer

Experience: 5+ Years

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage secure, scalable, and high-performance network architectures, including MILS environments.
• Configure and maintain Layer 2 VPN (Ethernet VPN, VPLS, etc.) and Layer 3 VPN (MPLS VPN, BGP/MPLS IP VPN) services.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot complex network issues.
• Collaborate with security teams to implement network security policies aligned with MILS standards.
• Conduct network capacity planning and optimize network resources.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation related to network configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Support network infrastructure for cloud and on-premises environments.
• Work with vendors and service providers to resolve network-related issues.
• Mentor junior network engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and network security audits.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Network Engineer or similar role.
• Strong hands-on experience with MILS architecture and security principles.
• Expertise in configuring and troubleshooting L2 VPN technologies such as VPLS, VPWS, or similar.
• Deep understanding and experience with L3 VPN technologies, including MPLS, BGP, OSPF, and VPN routing.
• Proficient with network protocols, routing, switching, and security best practices.
• Experience with network automation tools and scripting is a plus.
• Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, Nagios).
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent are preferred.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in defense or government environments with MILS or similar high-security requirements.
• Knowledge of cloud networking and SDN (Software Defined Networking).
• Experience with firewall and VPN security appliances.
